Complete Your Soul
I'm not frightened of anything.
The more I sufffer, the more I love.
Danger will only increase my love.
It will sharpen it. It will give it spice.
It'll be the only angel that you need.
You will leave life only more beautiful
when you entered it.
Heaven will take you back and look at you
and say:
Only one thing will make a soul complete
and that thing is LOVE."

Michage Berg from the movie, The Reader

After watching the movie (The Reader), I now understand why Hugh Jackman portrayed the movie as such at the opening of the Oscar Awards! I really thought that he hasn't seen the movie. hahaha (^o^)/

Clean Off Your Workspace!
I don't know if it's true but my journal says so. What a good thing to put in a journal ei! Thankfully, I did my desk and room cleaning before the New Year began. It's customary for Japanese companies to ask their employee to clean off their workplace before taking a break for the New Year's and I think I acquired the habit from them. Not to mention that my mom would nag me about it as well. hahaha (^^;)

"Bagong Simula" sa Bagong Taon
Bagong Simula is the official theme song of the BAYANIJUAN Foundation launched by ABS-CBN last June 12, 2008 (Independence day). The foundation "aspires to awaken the giving heart in every Filipino, and to encourage each one, to extend a helping hand so that every man, woman and child in the Philippines has a chance to make all of his or her dreams come true."
Wow! That is some vision. I will be supporting this foundation in the coming years. I hope you guys will do the same. "Walang Iwanan sa bayanijuan!"

9 Days Before Christmas
Every December 16, nine days before Christmas, is the start of Simbang Gabi or Misa de Gallo. I just found out today that Gallo is a spanish word which means "rooster." That is why the mass is held early in the morning supposedly just after the rooster crows. Some people believe that if you complete all 9 masses in 9 days, the Almighty Father will grant you a wish. Corporate Social Responsibility (Project 10 to the 100th)
Corporate Social Responsibility has gained popularity in the recent years and companies are learning to be more socially responsible and are now giving back to the communities. In this light, Google has launched its project called Project 10 to the 100th. Google is asking everyone for great ideas that can change the world and help as many people as possible. They are committing $10 million to this project. So you have an idea that can change the community or country you are in, but lack the funding to implement the project, this might be the right opportunity for you. Visit the site (http://www.project10tothe100.com/index.html) for more details. Deadline for submission of ideas is on October 20, 2008.If you know of friends who are into social services like Habitat for Humanities and Gawad Kalinga, you might want to inform them so that they can enter in this project. Selection of the best ideas will be done through online voting so we definitely stand a chance! The project's tag line says it all "May Those Who Help the Most Win!" Calling my friends E and N in Cebu!!! (Voting will commence on Januray 27th.)
A friend once said that giving back through company promotions like this one doesn't really impress him because the company gains recognition as well through the promotions. And Google doesn't hide this fact. In their site Google wrote that they chose this project because they believe that "the only thing that increases individual happiness over time is helping other people. In other words, helping helps everybody, helper and helped alike." Google realizes that by helping others they are being "helped" as well. And personally, I don't mind that Google benefits from this promotion as well, what counts more is that they are doing something to HELP! That for me is more than enough.
I hope a project that will benefit Filipinos worldwide will win. Ask Google to remind you when it's time to vote. Go to this link (http://www.project10tothe100.com/reminder.html).

Lunch Time!
How about you? Have you ever looked forward to lunch time as well?
Now that my time is unregulated and I can do whatever I want whenever I want, I somehow miss longing for those times, waiting for the clock and eventually hearing the sound of the bell to signify the start of the break. Somehow, life is easier when you have milestones (SMILEstones) even as insignificant as break time to look forward to. (^o^)/

Borjer Time!
This is for all Filipinos out there who's missing the cheeseburger craze!
(Hands down to McDo for producing a commercial with awesome customer recall. But whether it actually translated to sales, I'm not so sure. The borjer chant has become the new signal for those who wants to be treated for a meal but it doesn't necessarily translates to eating out in McDo.)

Black Friday
In the US, Black Friday is the friday after Thanksgiving. As to why it's called Black Friday, I certainly have no idea. For them it officially opens the Christmas season and the start of Christmas shopping! So on this day, stores nationwide offer big discounts and holiday sales. It's no wonder why my cousin is heading for the US again. She owns a boutique selling imported stuffs and she usually does her shopping around Thanksgiving day.
However going there herself entails extra cost. I should inform her of this site I found. It's very user friendly and it offers Black Friday discounts without the usual hassle of lining up and crowded spaces. The site is called blackfridayonline.com. I'm sure she would be interested in this, especially since it includes a lot of merchants. Not only will this lessen the cost of her goods but also save her time to do a lot of other stuffs.

What's Wrong?
What's wrong? I don't know.
This brought me to decide not to sleep early morning today. I'm hoping that this will fix my sleeping hours.

I have been reading a lot of articles in the internet recently. I can't believe the countless opportunities and endless libraries of information available. I realize I have been under using my internet connection! Hence, my mind working endlessly, trying to absorb all the information and figuring out possible applications. However, everything is just thought, as usual. Getting myself to act has always been the hardest part.

Sometimes people pretend to be not in the know, when in fact they really know what's causing their problems and what needs to be done to solve these. Why is knowing not enough to bring someone to action?

Blogging Extra!
Who would have thought that something as personal as your blog can now be used to generate extra money or income for you? When I started blogging back in 2006, the thought never crossed my mind. Back then, all I wanted was to start up my own website so people can go visit and read things about me.
If ever, I’ll let you guys in on my first purchase … *fingers crossed* Share
