China Snatches First Badminton Gold Up for Grab
China snatched the first gold medal up for grabs in the badminton tournament when women's doubles pair Du Jing and Yu Yang beat Korea's Lee Hyo-jung and Lee Kyung-won (21-15 21-13). The bronze medal also went to the Chinese pairing of Wei Yili and Zhang Yawen.
In the men's division, Lin Dan will face off with Malaysia's Lee Chong Wei in the single's competition. While Markis Kido and Hendra Setiawan of Indonesia will battle it out against China's Cai Yun and Fu Haifeng. The men's doubles final will be held on August 16 9:30pm while the men's singles final will be held on August 17 at 8:48 pm.

Rafael Nadal will face Fernando Gonzalez of Chile in the finals. Gonzalez won the bronze medal in the Athens 2004 Olympics making him the only man to win back-to-back Olympic medals in Tennis since Charles Winslow in the 1920 Antwerp Games.
