Where to Stay in Rome Italy

Where to Stay in Rome?

In the two times I’ve been to Rome, we stayed at the Best Western Hotel Spring House.  While it’s probably not a multi-starred hotel, it certainly is “SULIT!” as we Filipinos would say.

It’s budget friendly with rooms at only 80 EURO per night.  While the room and the shower area is small, it’s more than adequate for the average asian built.  (It ‘s probably  a little cramped for people with bigger builts.)

Here’s my little space of the room which I believe was meant for kids sharing a room with their parents.  The double bed area was more spacious.

The staffs are very friendly and accommodating – (surprisingly) ready to greet you with a smile.  Furthermore, we learned that a lot of its househelp staffs are Filipinos.  And they seem to be very happy and proud to have them around! (Felt great when I heard about this.)

It’s just a minute away by foot from the Vatican Museum and St. Peter’s Basilica!  If you happen to be in Rome on the last Sunday of any month, you can get a head start in the queue to enter the museum as throngs of tourists will be looking to enter because this is the only time of the month when the public can enter the museum for FREE.  (Access to the Sistine Chapel is through the Vatican museum as well.)

This is the view outside our hotel.

This is the view from the window in our hotel room.  There’s nothing much to see.  The TOY CAM feature of FxCamera App for Android smartphones made this picture more interesting.  (Free plugging to show my appreciation and gratitude for this great app that you can download for free.)

It was also in this hotel where I first encountered different types of options for your choice of pillow.  I think they had around 7 types of pillows to choose from!  Took a mental note to take a photo of the options but I forgot to set the alarm.  I can remember there were 2 options involving feathers and another 2 offering pillows that conform to the shape of your head like Tempur..

And this is the hotel’s mini bar.  Riccardo will be there ready to take your order with a smile.

If you’re one of the lucky few, you’ll catch this handsome Asian Barista serving you your favorite juice, cocktail, or coffee.  Just remind him to take out that tissue cover before pouring your drink.
