To be Young and Old At The Same Time

To be Old when you are Young
To be Young when you are Old
Are these the greatest ironies in life?

Time has a funny way of passing by.

Although not deprived of any childhood pleasures, one cannot help but think that one was Old when he was suppose to be Young.

Disciplined. Responsible. Serious.

Indeed, life was taken seriously just like how the old would want it to be.

And indeed life happened as it was expected to be. One by one money, power, fame, wisdom, and stability came. And yet both mind and body now yearns to be Young.

Adventurous. Witty. Carefree.

Mind and body very much willing but time and the environment has changed. Try as you may, now one knows better. Time only allows one to be young once.

I laugh and laugh as time passes by in a very funny way.

Just For Now

A few friends from Multiply have been raving about the musical play Avenue Q which is having a farewell run in Manila this month. I checked the schedules already and was disappointed to see that the last run would be this weekend. If only it was extended another weekend then I would be able to go and see it.

One of the songs in the play is entitled "For Now" and it contains the following lyrics:
"Except for death and paying taxes, everything in life is only for now!" (quite funny)

Everything is really just temporary, so keep on living ^^ Enjoy life.

fierce, fiery gusts
arresting my sullen face.
gentle... soothing...
like tiny drops of water
from slowly pouring rain.
at times refreshing,
sometimes fearsome,
and yet
always there.

suddenly
not a sound,
not a gust,
nor a gentle caress.

even the wind gets tired of blowing.

It's natural to be tired once in a while but we should never forget to continue pursuing our dreams and fulfilling our purpose.
